Frequently Asked Questions

Q.
So what do I need in order to get a quote?
A.
All of your current polices, along with driver's license numbers and Social Security numbers for each driver in your household. If you have these items in hand, it will take us about 15-20 minutes to get everything we need from you. Then you just sit back and wait for our complete proposal including detailed recommendations!

Q.
What kind of recommendations will you give me?
A.
We will see whether your house has enough coverage to replace it—you don’t want to be underinsured! We will review all of your deductibles to see whether it makes sense to increase them for a savings. We will check your liability limits and quote an umbrella policy for you, because most people are underinsured for the worst of accidents. We will also make sure you have the “extras” that most people need, such as sewer backup and jewelry coverage.

Q.
What companies do you have, and how do you know which one to pick?
A.
We have fine Wisconsin-based companies like ACUITY (Sheboygan), West Bend Mutual (West Bend), and General Casualty (Sun Prairie) as well as national players like Travelers, Kemper, and MetLife. We also have many specialty companies like Progressive. Each of our companies has different pricing and preferences, and by experience we are able to choose the best one for you in terms of coverage, price, and hassle!

Q.
What if I just want home or auto by itself, stand-alone?
A.
We always need to begin with both your home and auto because that is the best deal for YOU. All customers benefit from the car-home discount and a properly coordinated umbrella. Feel free to ask us about special situations and exceptions!

Q.
Do you have a list of things you can handle?
A.
In combination with your home and auto, we can also insure other personal assets including your motorcycle, antique or classic auto, boat, jet ski, campers, RV’s, trailers, snowmobiles, 4-wheelers, jewelry, collections, antiques, guns, 2nd homes, and rental properties.

Q.
How strict are your companies? Will I get turned down if I have a bad driving record or too many claims?
A.
Because our products generally fall into the PREFERRED category for coverage and price, not everyone is eligible. Most of our companies are reasonable and flexible and we will tell you what we think right off the bat. We are able to provide quotes to more than 90% of people who provide us with complete information.

Q.
What do I do if I have a claim?
A.
Most of our companies now offer 24 hour claims lines. This is the way to go if you have an immediate, significant claim. You can also report claims through our office if you would like special help or advice. All of our companies have local claims adjusters and they are known for good claims service.
